Bhutan is a small landlocked country at the crossroads of East Asia and South Asia, located on the eastern ridges of the Himalaya Mountain Range. It boasts stunning mountain vistas, terraced farmlands, and dramatic river valleys and streams. The unique architecture and vibrant, historic Dzongs make Bhutan an extraordinary destination for travellers seeking a unique experience.
Unlike many popular tourist destinations, Bhutan stands out for its quiet charm and absence of overwhelming crowds. Since welcoming travellers in 1974, the nation has maintained a carefully managed tourism strategy. This approach ensures the preservation of its rich cultural traditions, pristine environment, and spiritual harmony. The mandatory ‘Sustainable Development Fee,’ required of all visitors, supports Bhutan’s sustainable, low-impact tourism model and aligns with its core philosophy of Gross National Happiness.
